A great weekend for movies
This weekend's prime-time television offerings were better than usual, but only because there were two great movies on.
Friday night brought The Matrix in an shamelessly obvious marketing move to hype this week's release of the sequel, The Matrix Reloaded. It is, nonetheless an excellent movie and is removed somewhat from both the average sci-fi and action movie options.
The evening also held an interesting revelation. SWMBO told me that, if she were going to be ga-ga over any given movie star, it'd be Keanu Reeves. I responded by putting in a vote for Carrie-Anne Moss. I mean, any woman who can pull off wearing black latex clothing without it looking like some freaky bondage outfit gets a +1 in my book.
Saturday night, The Green Mile was on. Based on the novel by Stephen King, it's another fabulous movie that takes a good story and steadfastly refuses to ruin it by going over the top. If you haven't seen it, do so. Now.
